Working with EDPUZZLE

Whenever we do a task in class it is important to bear in mind the following aims:
1. to use authentic material
2. To plan the learning process step by step
3. to do significant and interactive tasks
4. to foster our students' autonomy
Actually we were reading  a text in class about travelling to the main cities in the world, among them the city of London is mentioned. So in order for them to get familiar with this cosmopolitan city  firstly I uploaded the original video in classroom for them to watch at home and then  on the following day of class they watched the video again but this time edited and modified thanks to the tool edpuzzle, you can see it in this link: EDPUZZLE TASK
This way we have achieved the four aims persued, since we have used authentic material, we have planned the learning process, the experience has been very significant and interactive since it was related to the content we started to see the day before and we have given autonomy to our students since they had previously seen the video at home.

We have chosen this video because its music and colours make it very appealing and it has got the right duration. The learning objectives of the sissions are:
-open students' minds to other cultures in order to make of them tolerant European citizens
-listen to an oral text  so that be able to understand general and specific information.
-review vocabulary of the unit
-enhance their communicative competence
-gain autonomy in their learning process
In order to achieve these objectives firstly students have rad a text about "Travelling". Then they watch the original video at home and do some vocabulary exercises related to such a topic. Next in class they watch the video again, this time in an interactive way by  answering to the questions that appear during its production. Finally, as a post task they express their opinions about the video by answering the questions "Have you ever been to London?" "Would you like to visit it?"
We flipped the class since the video was uploaded for them to watch firstly, and this has been very helpful since students were already familiar with its content before watching it and answering the questions.
This has been a very positive experience indeed since the ICT tool edpuzzle allowed me to focus on the content related to the topic of the unit. If I had to improve something maybe  next time I choose  a video  about another British town that is not so well known
